Episode 4. In 1986-7 I built up a unique skillset in the smallest NGO in África, successfully renovating several schools in Sudan. On our return, I couldnt get a job with aid agencies who had access to the kind of resources we could only dream of. gladstein might be interested in that part of the story!
On the #painting side, having a trade gave me so many options and I went on a 20 year globetrot developing a broad set of practical decorating skills. I was also curious about product development and benefited from seeing the Next Big Things before they hit the insular UK market.
The culmination of that stage of my journey was a lightbulb moment joining the dots between trade and DIY decorating.
